I was wondering if only 1 letter could be doubled? I see split in R in liberty but nothing in the other letters.

1982-87 coin look like you pic' its most likely trap air or gas under clad layer

There is no hub doubling there. That could be an artifact of die wear, or could have something to do with the plating itself, which is messed up all round the coin.

There's no such thing as a "clad" layer on a Lincoln Cent. These coins are not clad.

It cannot be 'partially' doubled - either it is or it is not...this is a case of 'is not'.

I'm only referring to and talking about the lower serif of R minor splitting as indicated above causing it to appear partially doubled. A second look now appears to be minute split die or die crack. That's my take on it anyway.
