1981 Cent Clip Or Cut? - Coin Community Forum

NGiles Pillar of the Community United States 527 Posts	Posted 02/12/2008 11:43 pm I'd say cut off. I think the edge would have distorted a little in the press if it were pre-mint. the cut line is too straight, and the details too strong in the effected area. Report this Post to the Staff

Look for metal flow lines at the site of the clip/cut- that is the best diagnostic to use when dealing with a small clip that might not make the Blakesley Effect noticeable.
