wonderful topic idea...I would have to go with.... 10) 1964 Kennedy Halve Dollar Bu 1998 Robert Kennedy PF+...thanks to Biokemist, this coin is now a MUST have for any collection. I plan on picking one up ASAP 9) 1909S vdb any condition...expensive yes, in fact very expensive. But I think we should all aim to have one as this is the cream-of-the-crop of cents, and how many of us started with a nice brown Wheat cent? 8) Any Date Mercury dime Au with rainbow toning...20th century classic at an affordable price. 7) Any Date 3CN Au...classic coin with III on the reverse--im the third generation Gary so this coin has special meaning for me 6) 1950 Franklin Halve Dollar Bu...Nice, simply date to honor a beautiful, and underrated, coin as well as one of the greatest Americans, Benjamin Franklin 5) 1925S Peace dollar Bu...I my opinion, the most beautiful coin ever struck. Nice simple date, classy mint mark, and a wonderful name " Peace dollar" its just a shame that peace never came 4) 1987 ASE Bu...another beautiful design, great year (my brith!) 3) 1912S V nickel Au...nice design and key for the series 2) 1944 Jefferson nickel XF+....no mint mark conderfeit coin, i'd rather have this piece than any of the real silver War Nickels1) 1938 Jefferson nickel Bu....first year of my favorite series, and I just pulled one roll searching today! yay! edited for accuracythere's my top ten for ya'll --Gary

Can I make it 12 instead of 10? Or maybe even 18? I've always been interested in type coins and years ago I pored through the Red Book and realized that the in the 10 year period after the Civil War, Americans had the most variety of coins ever to carry around in their pockets: 1) IHC, 2) 2c piece, 3) 3c nickel, 4) 3c silver, 5) half-dime,6) 5c nickel, 7) dime, 8) 20c piece, 9) quarter, 10) half-dollar, 11) silver dollar, 12) Trade dollarand if you really want to expand, you can include the gold coins: 13) $1, 14) $2 1/2 Quarter-Eagle, 15) $3, 16) $5 Half-Eagle, 17) $10 Eagle, 18) $20 Double Eagle

I keep reading this, thinking I can come up with something, and I end up with a list that mirrors a complete Dansco 7070! So, I will say that at some point, everyone that collects US coins should consider completing the 7070 or similar type set. One might even skip some of the more esoteric varieties (examples: LHC VDB, LHC Steel, Buffalo Type 1 vs 2, Jefferson " War Nickel", SLQ Type 1 vs 2, Seated "arrows", etc.). I lost count, but that shaves a good bit. One more: the Gold page would be optional!

Excuse me sir, but what gives you the right to throw your Two Cents in more than once?

You might interested to know that there is a 1998 $1 commemorative of Robert Kennedy so about 200,000 are readily available

I can't afford a 20 Cent coin so I have to throw in my Two Cents multiple times. One for each of the voices in my head.... Plus its one of the few circulation strikes you can complete in ten coins or less and have a major variety included.
