VDB location is off to the left. I believe that VDB is added. It is a 1909S PMD.

Not an expert, but the position of the mint mark and the VDB both look fine to me. Circulation wear may account for the low weight.

Kim - you'll probably need better pictures of the date/mm for an overlay comparison. VDB is supposed to be shifted a bit to the left. Weight is on the lower side of normal, but indicative of a worn coin. I'm not an S VDB expert, but your coin looks legitimate to me even with the distant/blurry date/mm pics.

I see nothing wrong at first glance. The coin would grade at most G6. Coins do gradually wear down and lose weight through circulation. I would wait on more opinions since wheat cents are not a domain of expertise.

Will wait for other experts too, but a quick send off to ANACS would do the trick. You can lose up to 10% of the weight with extreme wear.

Based on the new better reverse picture, VDB location and wheat point are authentic. Wrong conclusion based on the small bottom half of the reverse. Sorry.

Looks good for authenticity. That much wear will easily reduce the weight a good deal.

I keep looking at the picture, and feel the VDB looks off.
I agree this coin should be sent to ANACS ... Just to be sure

The VDB doesn't look that bad to me may be a bit to the left but, the S is bothering me some, not sure if that's been added?

Definitely submit. Looks most like Die Pair #3 from the small pic, but can't be sure without a true close-up.
