Hey guys, I'm looking at purchasing this 1909-S along with a 1911-S in the same condition. Please help me decide if this is a deal I shouldn't pass up. Both coins are offered to me at $100

I do not like that coin at all. If it's genuine it has problems like environmental damage, a weak strike and poor eye appeal. Take a pass.

VG-10 , If both coins are the same grade, then $100 is a good price.

Hard to tell from such harsh lighting. You could have an EF coin in there (maybe higher) but the lighting makes it look so flat. Looks like definite separation between jaw and cheek. Wear on the collar, jaw and cheek too. Wheat stalks look pretty good but again, lighting may be the reason the right stalk looks like it doesn't have full lines. Wheat kernels look pretty good though and color all around is solid I think. As for authenticity, the angled view and light hitting the mint mark makes it too hard to tell. Is there any chance you could get this coin in hand and confirm? If so, you could have a winner but without being able to see it in hand, I would pass. Do you have pics of the 11s or can you get another pic of the this 09? Ask to have him/her shoot from straight above?

There's no way to get the coin in hand. It is being sold by a coin shop in Nashville. I'm in Ga. Its hard to drop $100 on Two Cent.

The 11S has a rim ding, they look to grade, VG-10/ F-15 or so I would think they would be worth $100

I'm in the Nashville area... you want me to go down and verify that coin for you? If not, tell me what shop and I'll jump on that deal.

The '09-S looks about VF-25/30 to me, but I certainly don't like that obverse discoloration.

The 11s looks cleaned. Probably good to pass on these if you can't get them in hand.

Sorry for the slow reply - both coins have a common reverse flaw found on early Chinese copy/counterfeits. It is most obvious on the 1911-s. Forum decorum prevents me form pointing out the exact die marker. If the coin(s) are still for sale, please provide the link so we can report them as counterfeit. For review of other other recent old Chinese copies check out Coin Community Posts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-S-WHEA...?&rmvSB=truehttps://goccf.com/t/254576
