Didn't want to derail the other topic, so here goes! Post your coins from Japan, from any time period, middle ages through the present day. I'll kick things off with one of my favorites, from a world coin lot on ebay: 20 sen Meiji year 27 Edited by Finn235 03/19/2016 02:40 am

Bungle, those coins are nice. I think I'll buy some on ebay. I'm just curious; can you find them in circulatin in Japan?

Can I post one more from my collection? 1 Mon - Not 100% positive, but I believe it will date to the mid 1700's

I don't have many coins from Japan, but I found this one in the sixties after a UNICEF collection Halloween night. A 1938 sen?

5 sen Meiji 32 (1899) Hard to see on the photos, but the cupronickel is not fully mixed in the planchet, causing a copper-colored streak through the middle of the coin.

Love that 1,000 yen! I narrowly missed one on ebay just a few weeks back... they are not cheap compared to comparable silver NCLT.
