Hello, Out of my 20 Morgans, this one really stands out. It has a very pearlescent luster to it. Could someone please assist in determining the value/grade of this coin? Wondering if it's worth sending to PCGS. On a side note, I have other Morgans that have less wear, but just don't look nearly as shiny and luster-y. Which effects value more?

Your coin looks to be about a MS64 or MS65. I do not think it is worth slabbing, unless you get a free submission or have it submitted as part of a dealer bulk submission; 1884-O is one of the most common Morgan dates/mintmarks and usually found in great shape so there is not enough of a premium to justify a full slab fee.
It is certainly a pretty coin, and if you don't mind the money and aren't looking to get your money out of it anytime soon, slab away. Otherwise, just appreciate it.

Normal weaker strike, very lovely pearl luster, MS-64. Although this is a nice coin, if you check the census for these, there are a lot of them in 64 and 65 for this date.

The coin will most likely grade MS 64 with a out side shot at MS 65. If I were submitting to NGC under economy and I needed a filler, then, I would submit the coin.

New Orleans dollars exhibit weakness in strike in and above the ear and on the eagle breast and talons. Yours has a fairly clean cheek with some light contact marks. The luster is strong on both sides. She grades at a solid MS64 and with just a little less marks would go 65. Although common it has nice eye appeal.

I think it grades MS-64. Marks appear to be borderline 64 and 65 but the combination with the somewhat weak strike will likely keep it from grading 65.

It does look like a 64 in the images and not worth submitting for TPG since it is a common date. It is still a darn nice looking Morgan and one most anybody would love to own and show off!

with the above, it is definitely a solid MS-64 with a usual weaker strike being from New Orleans. It's a beautiful coin, I love the luster and pearl toning! Coin World gives it a value of $70 while NumisMedia says $77.

MS-64+. I think this has a fair shot at grading MS-65 due to exceptional luster.

For value, I would say $65 for MS-64 and $140 or so for MS-65. Grading costs about $19 from ANACS plus shipping so wouldn't be worth it for MS-64 (~90% CHANCE) but might pay off if you get an MS-65 (~10% chance).
