That's a tough one. Maybe an early state of PC59-102 ( 10+E12a ) The stem to leaf 9 looks closer to reverse E12a than anything else. That's my best guess.

Narrowed it down to Group E by Vine loop #7 (Narrow Gap), then Vine loop #2 (looks original)
That gives Group E

Then I found a few repunched Obverses that match the Repunched C in Canada (the only repunched letter)
That gave me: PC59-191 (Group E) and PC59-56a1 (Group J)

Since it's in Group E, my conclusion is that your coin is a PC59-191

Hope this helps (don't take my word as a definitive expert, I've only attributed 5 before)

If nothing else, I'm extremely confident it's in group E just like Phil310 found.

Wow I was completely off in my methodology of narrowing it down.
I agree with you and Phil310

You were definitely on the right track GregJG. For only your 6th attribution attempt, you did very well. I looked at the same features you did, but was not sure about the extent of the repunching on the C. There are a lot of obverses that have the repunched C of CANADA, including obverses 10 and 19.

The stem to leaf 9 is always a good place to go to nail down an attribution, especially when there are no die cracks to help. It is different on every reverse die.

The 1859's are fun to study, thanks to Dr. Haxby's website. There are still new dies to be discovered, so keep on attributing. You may find one!

I tried but could not come up with anything on the above cent.

You guys are very good to be able to close in on it though..
