It's a Mercury dime on one side and a 1944 penny on the other, almost like the dime is embedded into the penny

. Also, I winced at each of your pictures showing the coin being held by an alligator clip. Yes it is good to avoid touching coins with your bare hands to avoid fingerprints, but probably sharp steel jaws with a spring clamping them together isn't a great alternative. Cotton inspection gloves could work.

I'd repeat the opinion of not using your clip on your coins. Your Magicians coin is actually worth more than a plain silver dime, so that is actually good.

I would like to know why you think it is worth more than a normal circulated dime for what ever date it is.

It is only stuck in the penny shell and could fall out at any time. You can see curd around the rim between the shell and dime.

This trick is currently for sale and even comes in some of the magic sets.

Mine are from the 1970's and when I was dealing in magic and props and doing clown/magic shows across the US I probably sold close to 500 of the tricks for about $2.99
It is classed as an easy trick very little practice needed and zero skill. It does help if you have some talent to give it some flourish when performing!

Also, the marijuana residue from the clip may artificially tone the coin.
