The 2 in the date looks like 1972P-1DO-009 from coppercoins' website, but I don't see the die gouge in the field below the R in TRUST.

Opinions?

Its a nicely struck coin. I just cant tell from the picture. The closeup of the date is just a little fuzzy and shadowed. If you can get a better shot of the date. I may be able to say for sure. Could be die # 9

Here are a few more pics of the date. They are equally fuzzy, but maybe one of them has a better angle or something. My camera's macro isn't the best for this type of photo.

Mahgobbi; I have 25 rolls of 72 cents, BU. There are many coins in those rolls that beg to be pulled from the rolls as variety/error. But after encountering so many upon which the die did not strike well, I gave up believing they were more valuable than well-struck 72's. And some of those irregulars are pretty irregular; yet, they dont have any real extra value. Die Deterioration, MD, sharp or eroded edges on numerals and letters, etc.

Your coin is not a doubled die. In order to be 1972P-1DO-009 it would have to have the EXACT same anomaly, and yours doesn't.

1972P-1DO-009, although minor, is quite scarce and difficult to find.

Yours is not #9 as coppercoins says. I have a picture of mine around here someplace. If I can find it I'll post it later so you can see what the 2 looks like. Yours is normal for the year.
