Quote: What purpose does this comment serve? I think, Northerncoins, meant, that for collection 1 coin is enough, and if the person buys more, spending very big money, with the high probability, the target is to resell. and this reply / proof to someone's other post, stays, that this specific coin purchased mostly for reselling purposes.

Quote: For all the ones who keep saying that all coins are forgotten sooner than later, well, maybe it is best that you not buy any coins at all! Is this incorrect? "to buy" and "to collect" - they different here. One of the things I learnt here and the other forum - not to buy all what I like. Otherwise I'll collect not the coins, but the dust on multiple cases, cards and rolls and sets. More you buy - less you appreciate. And about older coins -"hits", the ones from them, that actually have no numis value: Who cares now that Colonial Acres had the GITD-1 on sale for CAD 65? Even the people who do not have it - will skip and put money on newest "hit".

It's not as if we're buying toys for $1,300. We're buying over 1/2oz of pure gold.
Sure, there's a premium but IMO it's worth it. Currently the premium on the gold delta is about 44% higher than a 1/2oz gold maple leaf coin, whereas a silver numis is about 400% over a 1oz silver bullion coin. I'm ok with that.
Also, we've had gold spot price at over $1,900 before. It could happen again, and if so then the premium on these gold deltas would decrease.
Either way, I'm happy.

@New1954,Looney4Numi,darryldarryl,
No need to explain yourselves. Its nobody's business why you order as many coins as you did. Just buy what you like, if the price goes up, fine, if it goes down, that's ok too.

Quote: Just buy what you like, if the price goes up, fine everyone will be happy with this part Quote: if it goes down, that's ok too. and this is more typical for collectors, that buy the coin for coin, all other people will say "dud" and will think, how to cover the loss. It actually understandable. When I notice, that some of my silver coins sell for $60 instead of 100, I just think, that could grab it for less, but in general I do not care (the difference isn't critical). But what suppose to feel collector, who bought overpriced numis gold coin, and see, that he could spend couple of hundreds less.... Just for reminder for all of us - at the end, with the time, all NCLT goes to value of the metal content. Or symbolic price, that cheaper just do not worth to sell.

Everyone take a deep breath, And...again. Good!! It's the weekend...kick back,grab a cold one...and if you're not inclined to do some gardening this weekend then hit a local DVD retailer...get yourself a copy of the star trek tv series or dial it up online or specialty cable channels and watch an episode or two..and see why it became so popular; lots of wit, humour, good acting, far better dialogue between the characters than any modern fast action sci-fi or superhero junk coming out of Hollywood of late... And then order some coins... If I may say...the trekkers gotta love all this talk about the series...and I would also say there must be some that work within the RCM because they really did assemble a great set of coins both pricey and affordable for all the trekkers to rejoice...and the stamps great too!!

The other is for my mistress so that she doesn't rat on me to my wife. The third is for my wife so that she doesn't rat to my mistress that we're getting back together. My dogs love Star Trek TOS. I'm looking for two more because if I buy just one they'll tear each other apart over it. If this coin shoots up in value then nobody gets one, including my dogs. I will sell them. @Electrum, very good advice...

The new release of Star Trek the Original Series silver coins is underwhelming in terms of design. The gold coin aside, the Kirk, Scotty, Uhurah, coins look like stickers, cheap. 20 for 20 looks OK and the Coin and Stamp set is OK. Just OK. This series looks like the Loonie Tune bunch, or the Batman vs Superman bunch. Stay away for now, if you really like them wait, they will sell for less than issue at year end boxing day sales.

I agree with you on the silver Star Trek coins. I am very disappointed with the designs. Not much creativity involved especially with the 4 singles of the actors.
The 20/20, I always grab what I can. Only 5 allowed now.
If the 3 coin one ounce series came with a custom star trek wooden box, that held all three and a graphic beauty box, I may have purchased this subscription; however, they are being issued in their single packaging.
I did purchase a variety of Star Trek stamp collections, from Canada Post, as well as the Star Trek postcards. I like them.

I do understand what you are saying about Numis not usually holding their value. The Glow In the Dark Prehistoric first coin issued 25,000 coins at 29.95 plus tax. This coin still has value over and above initial release price.
It seems that you are extremely diligent in your search for the best deals on what you want in your coin collection. Some of us do not have the time nor the patience to scour the internet for hours or days to seek out the lowest price on an item.
So, I give you kudos for all the research that you do. Colonial Acres always has blowout sales; however, are these sale coins in "Mint" condition all the time? I have heard mixed reviews.
