@ Northerncoins Quote: I could ask the same thing...
Normally you are very insightful and helpful on this forum. This time you are not. I responded to your comment then decided an hour or so later that it was nobody's business so I edited my post. Please grow up and lets move on and discuss this coin and not why, how or how much any individual spent on buying the coin. Thanks

Quote: If this coin shoots up in value then nobody gets one, including my dogs. I will sell them. This is the best what you can do with the coin and take all persons including the dogs to the Hawaiian vacation. With the amount of items, produced for Star Trek, including recent RCM coins and CP stamps - just a new flood. Some of you collect something else except the coins, and probably know, that "many" - almost always not good. Added: Weekend seems to be a bit cloudy in GTA, it good advice, Electrum, to watch something from the Star Trek.

For what ever the reason, there was no hesitation with this coin versus the first superman coin being 14k and incurring HST, seems in my mind the tax is lost value as opposed to this 24k version, just hope it looks better in hand like most units do

The only thing that will catch people off guard with this coin is the actual size. A half ounce of pure gold is not very large.

On my screen his photo looks to be the exact size, 28.68mm x 17.5mm
Shipping cost would be high with the insurance, wouldn't it?

Quote: It seems that you are extremely diligent in your search for the best deals on what you want in your coin collection. Some of us do not have the time nor the patience to scour the internet for hours or days to seek out the lowest price on an item. I have a bad habit to buy from the mint exactly in the release. After some time I already not interested in the coin, disregards sales. That's the reason, due to which I buy really few coins recent years... But with my work I have the access to the Internet, and rather play casual office games or facebook (I do not have even this junk), I prefer continuously monitor www for coins or cars or other interesting stuff.

"For all the ones who keep saying that all coins are forgotten sooner than later, well, maybe it is best that you not buy any coins at all! Seriously, let us be positive about this hobby so newcomers can appreciate the positive vibes rather than all the negativity about the hobby of collecting coins. Is this not why we come here?
Putting others down because of what they purchase is truly sad. I came here to share the excitement of coin collecting and not coin bashing. Sheesh!!
Well said

Reminds me of the practise of Law of Attraction....positive vibes will cause the value of the Gold Star Trek to skyrocket. I hope that's not what that's all about. Reality is coin collecting of any type is not about investing to make money, or quick flipping for immediate profit. History has proven that over and over. "Collecting" is a hobby that costs money. It's the false expectations of selling profit that create negativity and result in collectors very soon moving on. If "A" likes a coin to add to their collection, what does it matter if "B" doesn't? Nobody should care, such is life. But expecting "group-positive-think" only for the purpose of hyping flipping value on a forum is just not realistic. If I was a Star Trek fan I might consider buying the gold coin for $1300 because of the $850 worth of gold, but $2000 or more, no way. If RDM had listed this coin at $2000, would you still have bought it? Just something to think about, from the buying perspective....

It's also good to have a winner ever so often, even if it's only a small fractions of RCM offerings

Like all coins there's a theme, then mintage and price, in this case if the mintage was halved at say 750, it would sell out at 2000.00 in my opinion. There are a lot of 5oz. gold coins with 200 mintage never sells out due to crappy or over used themes.
