How does it happen? The struck coin fails to completely exit the striking chamber before the dies come down again.
Too bad the date's cut off on this one.

It does effect the value but I dont know the value on this one to begin with but very cool did you find it?

Yes, people want to know when and where a coin was made. It does have value though, probably around 15 or 20 dollars.

Copper. Not with grading? Ok. I was thinking more about the possibility of the pros knowing when this error type occurred. What year etc.

They know when varieties occurred but not most errors,(without a date showing).
