Another VAM cherry. 1878 Morgan - VAM 83 - 7TF, long nock / parallel feather reverse, "broken nostril" - dropped 8, all other markers present. This is a early to middle die stage with the reverse cracks faint but visible. Has some rim bangs & other various hits. (Thanks to you know who for correcting my attribution!) I'll patiently await CCF's grade opinions Member ANA - EAC - TNA - SSDC - CCT #890 "Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done." -- Louis D. It's been a while, so I'm pretty rusty but looks about an AU55 to me

I'm at AU55 as well. Very nice VAM find as well.

Agree AU-55; chewed reverse rim might be a problem.

AU55 for me as well. As already mentioned, the rim bumps may be a problem. Quote: Thanks to you know who for correcting my attribution

For 30 bucks I can live with the rim bumps :P

I'm feeling more AU-53 on this one.

This thing is absolutely gorgeous in hand. Killer green iridescent toning on the rim with lots of golds/reds, reverse is the same, green/gold/coppery reds. Reverse has strong cartwheel luster (not in these pics, with juiced lighting to bring out the color.) It's also a very solid strike, great feather detail & hair detail. Couldn't be happier for 30 bucks. I think it would slab a problem free AU55. A slightly tweaked photo to get the colors to come out.

Agree looks like a solid AU-55 to me with attractive toning.
Dipped and retoned once? Probably but the coin is market acceptable.
