At a coin show today several dealers were selling this Gold Mercury dime for between $275 and $300.

There's a guy selling First Strike 2016 Gold Mercury dimes in PCGS SP70 with Flag or 100th Anniv label for $329. That's the best price I've seen so far. I'm not affiliated with him in any way and if you're interested he's here: http://www.wondercoins.com/Contact.html

$265 was the price yesterday for quite a few OGP coins. (shipping included)
Re: that PCGS price...that website is a royal pain to navigate. I couldn't find the gold dime listed and other coins I found just said "contact us" instead of being able to order...only shipping fee I found was for orders over $1500 ($20)
Much easier places to buy coins....eBay had sales of PCGS 70's yesterday for $313-315 shipping included

Quote: check this out, the quarter is going to be the bare breast BUT no nipple just like no fsb! If they can't strike a nipple then go chain mail. But.. but.. the bare breast was the whole reason I was so excited they were doing this. I was excited for all three of the anniversary coins. I was excited, strictly because I believed they WOULD be sharp, detailed, PERFECT REPLICAS of the best examples within the original series. And gold, of course, that was mainly the only other thing because I wouldn't give a crap if they had been silver. I am very curious now what specifically happened with QC on this project. Seriously, I want to learn the answer to the question: does the Mint deserve or want our faith? Anyone with clues, take the floor..

i do not generally buy gold - too theft able, too value dense, and I feari would get seriously hooked. This coin almost got me, based on the pre release information/

Hmmm I paid 399.98 for a MS70 NGC mercury gold dime. And that was the cheapest one I could find on ebay or really any where else. I know someone will tell me I could of got it cheaper but guess what I got it and it goes nicely in my registered commemoratives. I look at it this way you can't take it with you! I haven't seen a brinks truck follow a funeral hersh yet!

Mama, the mint claims that their $2,000,000 machine can't replicate the fine details of the fsb, hair, nipple etc. Although, on the nipple we are only going by pics that are not sharp so maybe they'll be a hint of an areola lol. They say that in the early 20th century artisans had to be hired to touch up the hubs with the fine details and today's modern technology can't replicate it blah blah blah. These bullion pieces really highlight how inept and money hungry the mint has become. They had us hooked for a whole year and this is how they handle what could've been special. What a joke
To all those that got one and like it I'm happy for you. Don't let my disdain for this situation get you down. If I have the funds later this year I might try to get a WLH if they look halfway decent. It just irks me how they handled what was supposed to be a very special offering.

There have been over 5000 Graded by PCGS alone so far and over 95% are graded at 70. So not that big a deal to find one of these in a 70 grade at all.

Certainly 100 years of technology improvements have made coins sharper looking and easier to manufacture.
Oh thats right, 100 years ago there was still work ethic in this country.
I agree the build up led to a huge let down.
Not to mention the whole nipple thing, they show worse than that on network tv now.

I can't understand why people take them out of the cases their in to send in for a grade and then in a slab. The Mint spent a lot on the cardboard box, another box, then a hard case, then a plastic holder. I thought most of the money for this coin was for all that. I'm sort of sorry I purchased one. Could have used the money to buy one of those 1915 Mercury dimes I saw advertised.
