Just picked up this 1895-O Morgan. This fills the 1895 hole in my Morgan date set, the last hole I needed to fill, giving me a full date set of Morgans in MS except for 1892 (AU53), 1893 (AU53), 1894 (XF45), and 1895.

This is a VAM-3A, with the "beard" of rust below the eagle neck, around part of the lettering on the reverse as well. Seller and PCGS did not attribute, and I was able to negotiate price lower by $100 so that was a win as well. I sold three extra Washington quarters out of my Registry set for $540 so that helped cover most of the rest.

Thoughts on a grade? Seller pictures are okay, but this particular seller's pictures tend to under-display luster compared to when I get their coins in-hand.

Low AU. I don't know of the scratches on the right obverse would details it.

It's in a full grade holder. It does have a small rim cut on the right obverse @ 4:00, too, but this date & MM are notorious for terrible eye appeal in just about any grade due to cuts, scratches, indentions, rim bangs, etc.

First thought was AU55. Nice looking coin and tough date also. Congrats on finishing the date set!

In that case, AU-53/55.

Seems a bit undergraded - I would say 53 for this one

When I looked at the obverse my thought was AU 50, but the reverse looks 55. Nice coin for a AU50 in 1895 0.
