Unfortunately I do not see any doubling on the coin. But the experts here will let you know for sure.

Just like me, we got to keep lookin :)

What does the date area look like?

If it looks like this but in the opposite direction, it is Die Deterioration.

If it is on the opposite direction, then it is machine damage after the strike.

It doesn't appear to be hub doubling because it is not enlarged like a doubled die.

Here is what hub doubling might look like on a doubled die:

With the possibilities that you've suggested, I'm pretty sure it's Die Deterioration.

I suppose this takes away from the value of my coin, correct?

b&w bc it's easier for me to point out the deterioration or whatever is called.
On the 8 it's to the lower left, on the 6 it's closer to bottom and on the S, it's to the left.

The left sides of the date is machine damage after the strike happened. No premium for this. (except the 1969 coins are copper)
