Believe it or not, this is another "bargain" bin find.

Although a singlarly unattractive example, I thought that it was almost certainly of silver composition, and it in fact turns out to be .750 fine, working out to a bit over a half troy ounce in actual silver weight.

The "D" identifies it as having been produced at Aurich in Ostfriesland, and although 2,286,468 were struck there for this year, these are still supposedly worth twice what the ones minted at Berlin are.

Prussian coins are rarely attractive, to my way of thinking, but this one is at least more interesting than most, in respect of its reverse design.

I love the reverse design of these Thaler coins. This particular design with the eagle between flags was used from the mid 18th century until about 1820. The type of Thaler coin you've got her in German is sometimes referred to as Kanonenthaler, roughly translated meaning 'canon-thaler'. I probably do not have to explain why that is :)
