Why is the 2015-P worth so much more than the 2015-W? Is it just because it's reverse proof? I'm going by ebay sales. The W sells for $35+ in 70 while the P sells for 85+ (In many cases way over 100). Isn't the mintage the same on these? I would have expected the W minted coin to be more valuable based on where it was made. Edit - looking at the populations the 70 is harder to come across for the P mint. It doesn't seem that drastic to warrant such a price difference though. Edited by LibertyEagle20 05/27/2016 10:12 pm

I think it is because the Reverse Proof dime crosses over to Reverse Proof collectors. There are folks out there putting together a set of all the reverse proofs, and there are folks putting together dimes. Higher demand, same mintage = higher price.

I agree with gymcoachdon. There are many coins with a W mint mark but not very many reverse proofs out there. Besides, it is a great looking coin.

Interesting. I see quite a bit of upside for the MOTD dimes. You can buy 70's of the W mint for $30 or so. Seems like a pretty good deal considering the mintage is only 75,000 and a majority have come in at a PR69 grade. I can't justify paying $100+ for a 70 of the P mint though. Only big risk is that the Roosevelt dime isn't a popular series and since these are PR and not MS, I don't know if collector's will consider the MOTD dimes a key date or not even part of the set. Maybe once they finally change the dime design , this Roosevelt series will get some interest.

There should not be a T in the initialism. March of Dimes.

$35 for a graded PR70 low mintage dime sounds like a very good deal.
For the average person submitting a coin to NGC or PCGS it cost that or more to have it slabbed.
