From what I've heard, I'd use GBA and go for the fall auction at TCE. Whatever you choose, good luck.

March and April are good due to disposal income tax money.

I'd use the auction at the Expo in Toronto. The TCNC auctions are swamped with most of their own stuff and many people stay away.

But seriously. The days of getting a good price for your collection are gone, not to return for a long while I fear. Unless you have some really exceptional material deserving of international attention provided by an HA auction you should go with the advice given by okiecoiner and chequer. Don't go with TCNC for the reason mentioned by okiecoiner and because I believe there are still quite a few collectors like myself who can't bring themselves to buy anything from TCNC even though the alleged incident was many years ago now.

I have had decent luck consigning to Colonial Acres Auctions... Kirk and Todd are pretty good guys.

The CA this weekend was a good one to watch... I still have a hard time looking at the TCNC auctions ... and I've always been pleased with the service from the GB family. I have never sold anything but I think if I did.. I would do it through them personally...

It really depends what you are consigning... without doubt, pre-confederate tokens and exonumia would be Geoffrey Bell Auctions. Mint products do well with Colonial Acres. Top 5-10 pop coins (PCGS) or major errors might be better with Heritage Auctions.

I would agree that it depends on what you are consigning and also the dollar amount. If your collection is valuable enough consignment fees can be negotiable. Have you considered consigning your coins to a dealer on a commission type basis ? You might have to split your collection up to achieve optimum results. Good luck

If you can............wait. Unless you absolutely need the money wait for a better time . The Canadian Coin market absolutely sucks right now for numerous reasons. Another approach you might wish to consider is taking a table or two at some coin shows and try that. Or alternatively try selling yourself on ebay. You just might do a touch better than auctions. Remember, that for general stock replenishment, dealers buy at auctions. Off the topic slightly there is no need to bash the auction firm mentioned above. That situation referred to above was dealt with years ago and should have no bearing on anyone dealing with Marc or Eric in 2016. Be careful when throwing rocks at glass houses.

XWLCoins: Bump. Same for me. I visit and buy from TCNC several times per year (just like from many other CS in Canada. I like to encourage brick and mortar shops), and will continue to do so. Why the need to be so cryptic about this alleged incident? Mistakes happen. If not done in bad faith, mistakes would definitely not influence my habits of visiting their shop when I'm in town or bidding on their auctions. If otherwise, I think the coin community deserves to know...
