Great set, Coinfrog! Nothing like going top dog. As another way to collect SCs, I'm looking into getting one myself- only one, though- maybe, one from NA and one from HI.

Besides, the poker games and Lucky Strikes in Africa, I'd guess the notes were used by our men throughout their endeavors in Europe.

Somehow this thread got revived - I'd forgotten about it! Anybody else making progress on their NA set?

My progress is going backward. I've lost or given up at 4 auctions in the last 2 weeks trying to get an NA note. Next up is an auction for a Hawaiian this Sunday. Only, I don't like them as much as they're not SCs.

One of the things that I noticed on some of the NA notes were errant printing lines in the margins of some. Looks like they were meant to be a centering line gone wrong but I'm not sure. Not really a big deal except when you're paying top money for a gem or better.

ron - Is this your note? Those marks, both vertical and horizontal, are quite common and are not a factor in grading. They don't bother me.

No, it's not mine but it's similar to one I was bidding on. On that note, the little line segment, exactly the same size, was in a different place on the top margin. Never noticed it on other notes besides the NAs.

I recently acquired a nice ungraded $1 NA note, but that's as far as I've gotten. I do have my eye on a graded 66 $1 NA but can't quite bring myself to pull the trigger. Maybe when I see what the ol' tax refund looks like.
