Hey guys,

Just out of curiosity, what are your jobs and how much do you spend on coins, paper money, precious metals, and other numismatic related items each year?

I hope this question is not too personal. If it is, please pardon me.

As for me, I am a middle school student in New York and I spend around $150-$200 per year. I am currently using up all my life saving and allowance to buy coins. I have to save up again.

If I knew exactly how much I spent on coins, grading and supplies each year I would probably stop collecting

Had a part time job as a cashier last summer. Everything I made, eventually went into coins. Now my funds run very low and I'm glad it's summer again. Found a job a few weeks ago as a CNA and hoping I will be able to survive on coins for the year. Am I spending too much?

Now a pensioner.
I spend perhaps $2,000 per year, mainly from public auction.

No problem for me; I was buying sovereigns when I was in my 'teens. Worked for my dad from 12 years old as a factory hand. I was the only kid amongst my friends that had lots of dollars to spend, and those dollars went on coins.

Mortgage paid off on a single income before I was 40.

So far, in the last calendar year, I have bought about $4500 worth of coins. I have sold these for about $4000, while keeping $2000+ worth of stuff for myself. I am a college student, so this is collecting on a college budget (with scholarships, my first year of school was free ).

I'm an operations manager. I oversee production of products, their distribution and installation. This is mostly related to construction. I spend between $500 and $1,000 on coins per year.

Retired and can't afford to buy what I'd like. I only collect from circulating coins now so save about $5-$10 a year that I could have spent.

I work in public relations and probably have spent about 2.500 € last year, not without saying that I also sold some coins.

I have a management position and my spending varies on what I find and what I can get hold of. This year it's been over 10.000NOK already, including all peripheral costs.

I am not retired, and I still can't afford to buy what I'd like. I have 3 kids and I am a college professor. I also only collect from circulating coins now even though as a kid I would spend lots of money at LCS. I had more money to spend back then! So, strangely, my kid collection is much better than what I have acquired more recently. I have probably spent $100 on folders, flips, and storage containers this year, and I expect to spend less in the future now that the folders are purchased.

Roughly $4500 on paper money on ebay alone last year. I'm a college student, but I buy and sell to sustain my collecting goals.
