I could use some of the group's input. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

UPDATE: the second set is the same coin with softer lighting.

Hi panzaldi - thank you. I'm playing with the lighting a bit to knock down the glare. I have a second I will post. I appreciate your input once again if you don't mind.

Thanks for the second look! I didn't notice how washed out the steps were in the first photo. I tried taking new shots on the back porch, but the good weather/sun we had all day gave way to clouds.

Thanks to everyone else who posted their thoughts on this. I'm conservative and getting better at grading, but I still don't trust myself yet. Having a team of fellow enthusiasts willing to post a grade really makes me more comfortable about my recent purchases. Many thanks!!

That's OK Tony. I spent some time at Heritage Auctions looking at several specimens in each grade. I could see variation between coins...and between prices. While the grades were the same, the areas affected and the number of issues varied. One might have many little hits and a couple bigger ones in less conspicuous areas while others had fewer hits but in obvious areas. Nothing you don't already know. Both might grade the same but the prices paid reflected interest and level of distractions. Grading is a refined art I suppose and subjective. I appreciate the number of responses as it sets up the range of estimates. Overall, for the price I paid, I feel justified by the estimates offered here. Thank you for yours.

Here's an image where I tried to capture the luster.
