Quote: Turns out that I needed no reminder this time. I was too excited to forget. Me too. This is my first order from the Mint since I moved from the Left Coast to North Carolina. It seemed to take forever when I lived in CA to get items delivered, while others were showing off their Mint treasures.

Jbuck must be happier than a pig in, um, let's go with slop. Finally a gold item that he wished came in silver actually being made and offered in silver albeit at a later date

Why is everyone out about these on ebay? If the mintage limit is none, can't they just make more in a different offering (for example, a set that includes both S and W coins)?

Yes, they can. Question is whether or not they will. I was not taking any chances. I got mine and I am happy.

Likewise. Or at least, I'll be happy when they're in my hands.

The communications coming from the Mint's Corporate Communications office and its spokesman, Michael White, appear to be consistent in reporting that the 12,500 units for each silver Liberty medal are, in fact, mintage limits rather than product limits (as listed on the Mint's web site).
From the Mint's own press release of August 16, 2016:
"The one-ounce silver medals are struck at the United States Mint at West Point (product code UH9) and the United States Mint at San Francisco (product code UH10) with a mintage limit of 12,500 per medal. (Emphasis added here and below.) Each medal is encapsulated and placed in an elegant blue velvet presentation case with a certificate of authenticity."
This has been further corroborated by more recent follow-up communications from Michael White.
The web site Coin Update is reporting that "Michael White of the Mint's Office of Corporate Communications has confirmed in an email that each medal has been given a mintage limit of 12,500 units."
The Mint News Blog site reports on a communication it received from White that stated "the one-ounce silver medals are struck at both West Point and San Francisco with a mintage limit of 12,500 per medal, and a household limit of 2."
If this all turns out to be accurate and the Mint's final position on the medals' mintage, those who were able to secure theirs today will certainly be happy.

and that's what I figured all along that it was indeed kind of confusing but I assumed the mintage limit was indeed 12,500 each, lots of confusion indeed but shouldn't be surprised its the US Mint afterall :D

Mint News Blog also reports: Quote: Michael White of the Mint's Office of Corporate Communications issued a notice stating "the status of the American Liberty 2016 Silver Medal will remain as currently unavailable until all order reconciliations and order cancellations have been processed." Another piece of evidence for the 25k total mintage. commems said: Quote: If this all turns out to be accurate and the Mint's final position on the medals' mintage, those who were able to secure theirs today will certainly be happy. Personally I'm very pleased with my purchases. I will absolutely keep one set of S&W but am on the fence about potentially recouping my entire purchase price as well has having more money to spend on other hobby purchases vs having two sets.

Leave it to the mint to confuse things. I agree the 12,500/ea will likely be all that are minted. And resellers should strike while the iron's hot (this month) because medals traditionally have low long term premiums; Since they are not coins and have a limited number of collectors.
