Okay -- first I hear that they are rare -- then I learn that maybe that's not going to be the case.

I never had any until yesterday and now I have a bunch. So I did some checking and I see them for sale on the bay - but I understand that people have sold air in a jar on the bay....so I don't know what to think.

So I was wondering just how many are showing up these days. Are you guys finding any?

My understanding is that the 2009 $100 issues were held because of all the production problems the BEP had initially.
The 2009A (or some later ones) got released first.
Apparently the 2009 issue is being released now.

According to USPaperMoney.info, millions and millions were printed, but which ones were released? Is anyone keeping track or doesn't it matter?

I have been searching notes for a few years -- just whatever comes my way -- and I never saw any. I never really expected to. Then yesterday I got a bunch of them: B, G, and L FRB.

Anyway, I was surprised.

The BEP has been working on a machine for years that would check each individual note any errors and apparently they've got such a contraption working, so the 2009 notes that were in storage for, what... five or more years? are finally out there. They're released in packs of technically uncirculated 2009 notes but not necessarily in sequential order.

The BEP is still printing Series 2009A notes. The bigger question to me is what the heck they're doing with Series 2013...

I've been looking for the 2009's for awhile, pretty much every time a $100 comes through the cash register. Finally saw one last week.

Whenever I get some hundreds from the bank (which is not that frequently) they are usually older series (96, 99, 01). I don't think I've ever encountered a 2009.

I heard they were released in early 2016. After years of weeding out the bad examples.

I guess I'll hang on to them for now until I can find out what percent of printed notes will be released. There might be some low(ish) quantities for certain FRB's.

Mine are from 2010 -- April, May and September. Some printed in DC and some in FW.

I really never expected to see any ... really surprised me.
