I see you took my advice and posted on the grading forum! Could you post a clearer picture of the reverse side with the 1892 on it? I saw others concerned with fakes. And to see that beautiful round top 3 :)
I would say its a F-12, maybe F-15 if you're lucky Giving it a book value of $1500 CAD in F-12 up to $1750 CAD in F-15 You can get anywhere around 50-60% of this value from a dealer, up to 70-100% from a collector who needs it

Is the "2" struck through something or ? is it a 3?

Yes, a clear crisp photo would be helpful. The pewterish mushy appearance of the coin in your photo is often associated with fakes and I'm sure that's not your intention since you say its been in your family for 80 years. Adding: On the linked thread is a photo of a VG10. Notice the "large 9"? The "9" in the OPs photo appears to be smaller. Are not all 1893 RTs associated with "large 9's"? https://goccf.com/t/144890&whichpage=2

VG10. Wheather it's a counterfeit or real, I have no idea. Should go to a TPG.

Thanks for the sharper pic! My guess would be it's indeed a T6 according to the thin left-side bough beneath the ribbon and the location of the point of leaf R-8. The tail of the 9 is the same size as the upper part so it appears to be a large 9. I'd say you definitely should consider have professionally graded/certified at some point in time because of its rarity -- the difference in a couple of grading points can amount to hundreds of dollars. But what a wonderful historical piece from a family collection to have passed down through the generations! Do you have other interesting old Canadian coins from it that you might share pics of?

This is the only Canadian coin I have. My grandfather traded for it 80 years ago. He liked the look of it and wanted it.

Definitely a nice story and should be passed on in your family along with your Grandfathers story..
Get is graded and placed in a hard slab holder ..for future family generations..
