Hi All,
I recently submitted my best 1921 London die penny to PCGS for grading and it came back AU55BN. This is the equal 2nd finest to date (some lucky person has a MS63!). I was just wondering what people in the know would value this at?
I've done my own research and asked a number of professionals, and they all said that they haven't seen one this nice sell before but think at least 1.5k plus.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nice coin,i stay away from grading/valuing coins, best left to the Pro.'s IMO but someone on here should have some idea.
1921 English used to regarded as a rare coin, certain sites and Dealers still list it as such, but since ebay started they pop up everywhere and go for the $10-$20 mark for average grade. They may be grossly undervalued at the moment but time will tell.

PCGS have recently included a number of varieties as part of the regular set.
Collectors are now scrambling to work out what they are all worth in high grade.
Basically we dont know yet.
I reckon $1500 is a bit high but who knows ?

The coin is very scarce, but not rare. The variety is the product of at least 3 die pairs and not as scarce as say the 1927 Indian (one die pair) or the 1920 Dot Below English (two die pairs). There are a few unslabbed examples out there that would make MS grade. Also the Benchmark coin in NGC MS64. Echidna is correct about the low price of the average circulated examples (I've picked up about 100 for $5-20 each). In better than VF30 however they are worth slabbing and an example in AU55 would be worth at least a $1,000 plus but only if a couple of variety collectors get in a bidding war. $1500? Maybe, could be worth even more because those who want to complete their sets will need a decent example if they want to compete with the better sets on the registry.
