Hi, for my collection of the coins of '82, I recently came across this 1782 Bolivia Potosí 4 Reales and am hoping for thoughts as to authenticity. On the emotional side of things, I know 4 reales are much scarcer than other denominations, and I haven't seen a 1782 offered in quite some time.

Photos of the coin are below. There are 4 of the edge to show more of it.

I've compared it to the offerings the no-no site, and this is thankfully different.

Weight is 14 g, about where is should be. (weighed on two scales, one went straight to 14, the other teetered between 13 and 14 and settled on 14.

Diameter tends to be 34mm, about where it should be.

What does the forum think?

The coin looks very nice and eye-appealing, there is no tell tale to say it is fake.

Genuine... cleaned to some extent in the past and a few scratches, central rev. strike weakness, but decent meat remaining.

I would say off-hand that 1782 would be a slightly less-common date within the Potosi Charles III 4 Reales series, as it not one I recall seeing frequently.
