So, I started collecting coins at a very young age. My Uncle gave me Littleton penny book and that got me started. I started to collect other coins and my family helped me out. One day I come home from school and found my brother had stole my coins to buy candy. For some reason we didn't try to go get them back. That ended my coin collecting days.
Fast forward 35 years later. I told my wife about my coin hobby when I was a kid and she ended up buying me a NGC graded Morgan from a local coin dealer as a present. Well that is what it took to get my juices going again. I started out collecting raw coins then realized I had no idea what I was doing with the grades. I then switched to graded coins.
Besides collecting because I love it, it was also done with the thought I would leave my kids something. Then I realized if they don't have the same itch I do, they may just sell my collection for a fraction of what it is worth. At that point I decided to sell my collection on ebay. Well, I found out how much I can make selling, so I now sell on ebay full time.(I have another real job, that is) The point is to give my kids the money instead of the coins. I love Mercury dimes, Walking Liberty halves and any early cents, Wheat or Indian head in MS-RD condition.
That's my long boring story. I look forward to contributing to the board.
Welcome to the forum, vent1020! Hopefully your brother has apologized for selling your collection! I am interesting in how you go about your ebay coin selling. Do you pick up coins locally and sell them on ebay, buy on ebay and re-sell?
