Since I collect cents from circulation only, I just keep the best one of each year and MM that I find.

I used to save the BU/AU coins from circulation. The rest send back to circulation except solid copper coins. I save all Wheats like mentioned above. But for high grade coins from OBW rolls, MS-65 or higher is the ones to save. The rest I put back into tubes for storage.

@buddy - you only keep one of each year?

@Big & Rich (coop) you keep all copper ones, no matter what their condition is?

For now. If they get rid of them in the future, we might get a melt down price for them. (but who knows for sure)

I have five 2000 WAM's, only one that is in MS. I don't like the idea of putting them back into circulation.
Are they not worth keeping?

If you are doing a current Cent set,
two examples of each in the best possible condition that you can find.
Upgrade condition and replace as you find better condition for each coin.

That way, you are able to keep your mind fresh in a living and growing collection. I do this for all currently issued coins, and selected base metal collectors' pieces.
