The 1837 looks like a details medium letters head of '37, and the Half Cent looks average, and beat up. $205? Maybe a rare variety N-? on the 1837

I know just about nothing about the really old cents but -- jeepers -on the '37, the TY of Liberty looks like it got carved into that coin. Is that in any way normal wear?

As for the final price ...(sigh) I'm guilty of being a bidiot so I can understand getting carried away and away...

My suspicion is that the 1850 is a semi key date and that caused the price to go high. Overpaid in my opinion

Maybe a couple bidders think the grades are a little higher
than I am thinking they are.

I am not seeing that ending price

Think I'll buy a lot of cheap Half Cents and list them with my large cents when I sell them

The Half Cent is nothing special. The are two scare varieties in 1837 but they are only R-4's and the coin in the auction isn't either one of them.

Two shill bid accounts betting against each other? Creates hype, hype spawns bidiots who go crazy over the other coins in the seller's inventory.
