Going through ebay and I saw this listing. what surprised me is that there are 19 bids for over $200 already. At least it has free shipping https://www.ebay.com/itm/252444905664 *** Edited by Staff - Added image ***

Nice detective work. Relist it in CCF column eBay Counterfeit Reporting for all US coins and Currency List it as Counterfeit 1943 S Lincoln Cent copper Counterfeit should be 1st. word, its the red flag, so Bobby can get it pulled, squished, taken down.

He's only saying ''FAKE'' at the bottom of his description to save his butt . BUT he's happier than a pig in mud with the bidding going on , on his copper error .

now the seller can't rob someone out of $200. However they really should've known better.

BUT what if it turned out to be a Copper Cent, plated with Steel, then plated with Copper. I've got three of those but not the S Mint.

SNAD = significantly not as described (old terminology). NAD = not as described (current terminology).

If it's raw on ebay it's a fake. Anyone with access to the internet no matter how oblivious to numismatics who can put 2 or 3 key words in the auction indicating they did even the slightest bit of research would have know to get it TPG graded and sold through a respected channel.

Quote: A SNAD by a buyer overrides this. Anyone remember when ebay had any sense of community and legitimacy and sellers could leave negative feedback for deadbeat bidder and scam artists. They even had the deathnail NARU for scam artist sellers and multiple deadbeat bidders. Now it is all a pyramid scheme and as long as ebay and Paypal get their cut they will screw over both sellers and buyers by tying their wrist rules and feedback and make it impossible for to file a nonpayment claim to get your final value fee back and will automatically side with any buyer who claims wolf and take your money back alongside with the final value fee But the one time as a buyer you get ripped for some reason they decide against you because you bought from a professional scam artist who greases their wheels and pockets. Don't sell on ebay and buyer beware.
