I was wondering if you think this is genuine or not. I do not own the coin, so the pictures are all I can give you.
Thanks in advance!

The coin looks harshly cleaned, but genuine.

Looks okay to me. Not sure about it being cleaned - the lighting is unbalanced, and it's hard to see the surfaces straight-on.

I agree with TypeCoin as I am seeing some hairlines from cleaning.

How could one distinguish cleaning hairlines from whizzing vs die scratches using photos posted by a trained and proven CCF member vs a typical ebay seller as an example: or on any photo for that matter?

The area directly below the eagle's neck and breast would be my immediate concern.

The image name having 'fake' in it is also a red flag.

Need to see the original, uncropped, photos.

The seller even states in the description that it may have been cleaned at one time. I am agreeing with Paralyse and the others that it was cleaned at one time. My grade UNC details cleaned. Not worth near the $400 its at now.

The seller on the Flying Cent notes the coin may have been cleaned that is a strong indication that the coin was cleaned.

Wizzed - device used to clean coin such as a rotary brush. The photo below is a strong example of a wizzed coin with the polished looked. Note the cleaning lines from the wiz are on the devices, fields and rim of coin.

Die polished lines - Die polish lines are typically only the fields of the coin and do not show up on the raised device. Die polish lines will extend from device to device and often visible in tight areas like inside of a letter. The photo below is from a 1900 O Morgan PL that are notorious for die polish lines.

Clean - hairlines from cleaning will most likely not extend from device to device and often there is a small gap next to the device because the cleaning could not get into the tight spaces. The photo is from a NGC AU as noted as improperly cleaned.

On the OP coin I saw lines under the eagle that could have been from cleaning and the reverse has some hairlines that do not extend from device to device that did not appear to be die polish lines.

Hairlines arent the main concern with cleaned copper, many times they dont even show up.

Cleaned copper will be RED/YELLOW. A bright, unnatural color that screams "IM CLEANED" It will start to tone back, such as this one, but it will have a halo like ring around the devices.

Regardless of cleaned or not, a decent looking coin. A bit overpriced, but nice.

The denticles look suspect between 4 and 8 o'clock.

There is rim damage at 4 o'clock.

The scuffed area under the eagle is suspicious.

I would pass.
