So, by that title you can tell what I'm talking about. I got my 2016 silver proof set ordered directly from the Mint! Yes, after the day of my birthday I get this thing! Now I did say a few months ago that this was gonna be my main target, and that mission has been completed! But now the question is up here, should I get another proof set somewhere like ebay? I would love to do that when it's possible.

The delivery is supposed to take 1-2 weeks, so until it comes I'll just keep looking at the stock images, and whenever it arrives pictures will be taken!

Nice! Looking forward to your photos.

As for picking up a 2nd set, unless you can find one cheaper on ebay (which will be unlikely while the Mint still has them in stock), I would buy another direct from the Mint.

Oh, and happy birthday!

Thanks CelticKnot! When I was talking about another proof set from ebay I was talking about an older set that was made for that year

Definitely look on ebay for another year silver proof set.

One of the favorite parts of my collection that ranges from ancients to moderns is still my silver proof set run since the start of the State Quarters.

You can get most of the back years for less than the current year price from the mint.

Ah! That makes WAY more sense than what I was thinking, but in my defense, I always buy two sets: one to keep in OGP and one crack for albums (which I have yet to do).

So yes, ebay is a good way to go for picking up Ag Proof Sets from other years. You could also visit your LCS or a coin show for competitive prices.

Your defense is weak on me. I will not crack open any coins!

Never say never ....

Maybe better said .. " I have no plans to crack coins out at this time"

I have broke coins out of hundreds ... maybe thousands of sets.

Well seeing as how you have millions of coins that's a pretty low average GR

I still remember that sunny day in 1993 when I cracked all of mine. Been doing it ever since.

Well, if it makes anyon feel better, I left all of my Prestige Proof sets intact. I also have an intact duplicate for my birth year (1969).
