Assuming price was equal which coin would you buy the one in post one or post two? Both are PCGS slabbed MS-64

I'd buy the first one, personally, simply because it has better eye appeal in the picture. It might just be a better picture, however, so I'd want to see them both in hand before buying.

Coin 1 - It has a little better strike.

New Orleans mint is known to not have a good strike on Morgan's. Flat hair above the ear and eagle's breast is
common.

Coin one has some feather detail and not as flat hair above the ear.

And as posted above, coin one has better eye appeal.

Agree that coin 1 is nicer, stronger strike and better luster.

OK I was going to try bidding on coin 1 for the same reasons. Buying from pictures is iffy but I liked the definition of the eagles breast better on 1

Coin 1 - Better luster, strike & eye appeal. Coin 1 looks one point better than Coin 2 in these images (64.5 vs 63.5).

Coin 1 based on eye appeal - better strike and lustre. The only thing that could have swayed my decision to coin 2 would have been if it was a list VAM, which it is not. Neither of the two appear to be btw.(coin 2 is a VAM14 and coin 1 is a normal date position/ normal round O mint mark that does not appear to have any die markers of any list VAMs in this category)

The past 5 ebay auctions the MS 64 1888 O has sold between $91 and $113.

There are lots to choose from as PCGS has graded 8060 in MS64 for the 1888 O.

When do the auctions end? I'd pick #1, but #2 is a perfectly good choice too. If #1 ends first and you don't win then go put a bid in on #2. If #2 ends first and you have the money put in a low ball bid on it and your regular bid on #1. If you got #2 for a bargain price you'd be happy with it I'm sure.
