looks like Machine Doubling (MD) on the reverse of a Kennedy half dollar

to CCF. This is what we call machine damage. Note how the so called doubling is shelf like and reduces the size of the devices. It is technically damage and only warrants a premium when extreme. This image from Coop is extremely helpful

As mentioned, machine damaged after the coin was struck. The die moved slightly dinging the outer devices. This happens a lot on the large sized coins.
