I have this dime, and it has no brown color on d rim at all. It seems to me that its made of pure silver, this probably isn't possible but how would I be able to tell if its an error coin. Here's some pictures, I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time with this.

Dimes, quarters, halves, and dollar coins 1964 and before are 90% silver. No error

Before 1965 the Half Dimes, dimes, quarters, halves, dollars, Twenty Cent, during the second world war time some nickels were also silver and there some 3 cents were silver.

It is a silver coin as mentioned before. It was regular back in the 60's and before because silver probably cost a little over a dollar an ounce then. Now silver is way more costly. It is maybe a dollar in melt but it looks like a nice mint state coin. Maybe like 3 or 4 bucks
Rest in Peace

To CCF , The brown color you are referring to is called toning sometimes found on silver coins . Your Roosevelt dime is not PURE silver , it is 90% silver .
You haven't wasted anyone's time here . At CCF the young as well as the old learn something new every day .

I think he is referring to the copper color on the side of the coin.

It is silver and has some nice frosty mint luster on it as well. A keeper 100% although not particularly rare or an error of any sort as others mentioned.

Sorry for the answer spam, but that's 90% silver. Any dime 1964 and before is 90%, similar to quarters and half dollars. However, half dollars from 1965 to 1970 are 40%, so if you ever come across one of those, it's worth keeping as well. Your dime is in pretty good condition, meaning it probably recently came out of somebody's mint set or collection and it's probably worth more than its scrap silver value. Nice find.
