Hello again

Is this date a doubled die by any chance?
I see it by the 1 and the 2 but would love everyone's opinion.
Thanks!

Nice clear photos. That isn't the 1972 DDO everyone looks for, that looks to be just mechanical doubling/ Die Deterioration. Good eye and a neat find either way.

That is master die doubling. It is common on the 1972 Lincoln cents. At least half of the 1972 cents have this doubling. It doesn't make them any more valuable than any other 1972 cent.

There are some more examples of this type of doubling and a better explanation on this page: http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/doubledDies.html

If you check other areas of your coin will also find these:

It is a doubled die, (master die doubling) but it is so common a very large percentage of dies had this issue from all three mints. So they are common.

Thanks! Sonchild, I actually use an app on my phone for now for pictures. I'm hoping to get a lens for my camera soon.

That website CWB is great thank you for telling me about it.

I'm going to check the rest of my coin right now for the other places you showed me. Thank you Coop.
