This coin appears to me to be in surprisingly good shape considering its age and poor storage conditions, but I'd like to know what people in the know think.
What kind of grade should it receive?

It's possible that it was cleaned or polished sometime in the past, but it probably would have been done over 40 years ago. I think some of the shine is from the lighting I used. I'll take a few more photos with less glare.

It still looks cleaned. Quite a bit of the green stuff remaining.

I concur that it definitely looks to have been cleaned/polished. From the standpoint of wear, at least by U.S. grading standards, I'd say it's a no-brainer XF, albeit with a "details" annotation. There also looks to be a minor rim ding (at about 8 o'clock looking at the obverse) which also hurts it.
