1972 Ike Dollar Doubled Die Obverse / DDO Liberty

MS70Error5 Valued Member United States 434 Posts	Posted 08/26/2016 6:39 pm This coin appears doubled on LIBERTY, specifically RTY. There is a large notch on the left leg of the R, and its right leg is thicker than on a normal coin. The T has a notch at the bottom right corner. RTY all seem increased in size on their right sides. I put a normal 1972 first then the DDO to show the differences in the size of the letters. Thank you for your help and feedback. Normal Coin: Report this Post to the Staff

Dustin6 Pillar of the Community United States 3516 Posts	Posted 08/26/2016 8:29 pm IMO, this is hub doubling, look at the bottom inside serif of the R, it has the exact same class and location of doubling. So it couldn't be a hit or MD. You can also see notching on the T and Y. I vote hub doubled Report this Post to the Staff
