I was in a small town near where I live and went to the drive-through ATM to get some cash. Just my luck the machine was out of order. So I rounded back into the parking lot and walked into the bank to withdraw some money. I had a feeling come over me so I asked the teller for a $25 box of lincoln cents. I then asked her if she had and half dollars. She checked with the other tellers and came back with two rolls and seven loose coins. I couldn't believe it... when it was all said and done there were 17 silver coins (three 64's). Anyway, one of the 64's looks like it might be an RPM? Does the upper serif look split? or just maybe a worn die?

That is a RPM.
But I didn't see it listed on Variety Vista:
http://varietyvista.com/12%20Kenned...%201964D.htm
It might be considered too minor there.
Wexler's site on Kennedy half dollars, shows it is under construction. (no information shown)
I would save it. It might be listed on Wexler's site. (or you might need to submit it when they are finished working on that site. check back later)

Nice RPM. Sounds like you made a decent profit on that bank transaction.

It looks like it could be the CONECA listed 64D RPM-009 or RPM-012. I don't think it could be the 012 because the mintmark position on the 012 is higher than yours. I think it matches the 009 with a hit on the lower D. Check out the die scratches on the attached RPM-009 MDS...do they match yours?

Not the same mint mark location.

Coop...why are you comparing my image of my 64D RPM-009 with the 64D RPM-012? My photo is showing die scratches on the RPM-009 so it can be compared with the OP's half dollar, which appears to be the same mintmark location.

In your new photo I see that there is no evidence of the die scratches that are on the RPM-009. I also noticed that yours appears to be the RDV-003 (flared G) and the RPM-009 is a RDV-002 (straight G). I will say, I think there is more to yours than just a minor split serif...I would send it to James Wiles and see if he may list it. That die gouge dot NE of the mintmark next to the steam would be a good marker.

James wiles would not list that on IMO, I sent in one stronger on a rosie and it didn't get listed. Waste of money unless you are sure it will get listed

The attributors vary in what they will and will not list.
Variety Vista shows for Lincoln cents 1959-D RPMS 22
Coppercoins lists: 63
John Wexler's book for cent RPMs for 1959: 111

So they vary in what they will list. Some will not list minor ones, others will list almost everything. So keep this in mind when sending coins into to be attributed.
