Just got grades back from ICCS.
1859 1c narrow 9 MS60 Brown
1859 1c narrow 9, re-punched 5, AU55
Guess the latter should have some value?

Your coin is the Haxby variety PC59-575 ( obverse 57 + reverse J16d ) It is also listed in the 2011 Charlton large cent variety section, page 297. That is a very nice coin, and not an easy variety to find! Nice die cracks on the reverse too.

Yes, the 5/5 is a premium of about 10X times what a normal narrow 9 is.

Many thanks folks.......will post images once the ICCS 'slabs' get back home. A certain SK numismatist said retail $900 on the 5/5......oddly, I might just keep it. And thanks for the technical info Phil310.....will try and look it up .only have Charlton 2012.

Great closeup of the 5 viper! Looks like yours is a pretty high grade also. Does it have the late state reverse die cracks like Marbury's?

Thanks, I was hoping you'd post the full reverse picture. Very beautiful coin, and photographed so well (through plastic I assume). I love the colors on it. Yours is the late die state with die cracks and clash marks.
My example is low grade with no die cracks. I am a little envious.
