hello,

new here, never posted anything on any forum before. I have a 44' Mercury dime that has odd "patches" (for lack of better term)and was looking for some info if it was in or post mint

Your Dime could be some sort of solder or liquid.IMHO

Obverse seems to show some sort of Wrapping Machine Damage, but after that I'll wait for the experts.

i am with Bpoc, solder as it was prepped for a jewelry mount, probably cufflink or locket

Definitely post mint damage. When a die breaks with a Cud that large, the opposite side devices are barely struck up, if at all.

It may have solder on the reverse and the obverse was damaged by a counting machine because of the solder?
