Hi all, Diirizzyl here. I've been a collector of many things going on a few decades - from regional fossils, plants/permaculture lore, and board games, to vhs tapes, vinyl lps, and exotic biological specimens. I love finding cool stuff and mentally digesting to my best abitities.
Recently I've had a resurgance into numismatics after inheriting a small but interesting collection of coins and paper money from a grandparent's garage catalog. I gathered all the register finds I've been buying from one of my jobs and a few rediscovered coins resting unnoticed in drawers for years. Added these into the hundreds recently
inherited and began pouring through
ebay auctions seeing if I can sell off most of the less interesting stuff.
After reinvesting most of my profits back into the collection I've made myself a pile of conversation pieces for an eternity.
I found this forum after acquiring my first Spanish milled piece of eight, prototype of USA dollar, and first global currency, and quickly learned I most likely had a well made counterfeit. After reading what seemed like volumes of Swamperbob information about Boston type II repros made on the dl by private interest groups, the hook was even deeper sunk.
I'm really into this hobby and have some decent examples to carry into old age hopefully. Maybe I'll sell them in a few decades and invest in a trip off world with SpaceX.

Thanks for the welcomes and opinions. so far I'm really enjoying the community here and look forward to learning everything I can while participating in the forums here
