I made it through the first week , and came home with some money

. I did manage to spend a little less than I made, but only for one reason. A particular coin is on my list, but another employee wants it too, and he has precedence over me. My only edge in this one is his wife -she has to ok the purchase , and I have no such approval process ! Everyone cross your fingers, I really want this coin....
To answer CoinHunter from the earlier post , I do live in Ohio, and as much as I would love to keep my little secret, it would not be a stretch to find me or the shop I am sure. Since it is a public business I am sure he would appreciate the advertising. I shop at "Toledo Coin Exchange" , Clyde Englehardt proprietor. Clyde , Ed , Nick , Pete, and Larry do the U.S. stuff, Royce does the foreign . It is located on Monroe St. in Sylvania ,Ohio. If anyone here decides to stop in, make sure you tell them Steve sent you- they know me well - and I would like to meet a fellow collector from here sometime. As for personal information about me or my collection, I hope people here know better. I keep only the recent stuff here anyway, and my 9mm watches them very closely. I hope no one takes offense, but this is as public as I want to get with my pursuits. I am not worried so much about people here, but anyone can look at this info.
On to the topic at hand, The rest of the week flew by of course, and I began to realize I may have jeopardized my own search time so I made sure to quit early a couple days to get a half hour r so looking at stuff I didn't get the chance too.
I finished up the
War Nickels,a grand total of 4,400 or so. I guess the cream rises to the top, I only found two other minor
DDO's in the rest of that batch. I did find a few nicer ones, XF-AU. I did find one that looked to me like the "doubled eye" 1942 in VF, but Nick didn't think it was. I thought it was, but worn...so with permission, put it on the pile. I will investigate this one further and let you know.
Finished most of the
Buffalo nickels after that, sorting the full date/partial date/ no date / culls. Popular coins those Buffaloes , even the no dates have a market. About 5000 of those buffaloes.
I found quite a few surprises in there as far as dates go, alot of teens and early twenties coins, some with full dates, even quite a few mint marks. A couple 1913's - one Type 2 D that had a partial date, a few type 1 P and D's. Most of the type 1's are no dates , but popular since you can tell anyway when the coin was minted. I grabbed just over a roll of different Buffaloes along the way, a few early teens with barely readable dates - a couple with Mint Marks. Of course , the better dates and grades are for the shop and I must purchase them for retail if I want them.
I also picked up some a with nice details but they are dark red colored , they were headed for the cull bin so I put 'em on the pile. They are not bad looking coins, just different ! Found some real nice clashes in the Buffalo bin, grabbed a couple of those too. One I saved from the cull bin is AU, maybe MS- but you can't really tell because of the red nail polish on it. I think I can take care of that.
Saw alot more sellers this week too, piles of silver dollars...I'll never get time to see them all ! One guy brought in a couple boxes of stuff. He had boxes of like 25 - 1965, 66,67, SMS still sealed in the boxes they were delivered in. Gotta look at those next week

Suitcases...plastic bags...laundry baskets...boxes... I wonder when people will run out of silver to sell ?
O.K. , Saturday...9 am...Time to work the Buffaloes...Hold on got something else for you to do for a bit...WOULD YOU CLEAN THESE COINS FOR ME ? Yikes. I know everyone here has an opinion on this subject, I am not gonna debate you here. Anyway...You would not believe how many people tape their silver dollars...glue their silver dollars...put stickers on their silver dollars. There were about 35 or so dollars that were in need of "conservation" . Out came the acetone and I went to work. saved 75% from the melt bag- back to collectors. If the acetone does not work...yes you know what's next..Dip...I dipped 3 coins, only one was saved. The other two must have been in fires, the black would not come off. There were two nice AU
Peace dollars that had rusty stains on them, after the acetone I would have bought them !
Spent the rest of the day with the Buffaloes and quit a little early to get a look at the circ morgans. Two weeks ago there were maybe 50 or so a week in there, there must have been 250 this week. I got a couple this week from there, both are TOP 100 coins I believe.
I will be posting pictures of single coins in various forums ,I will add links to them here as I go along. I have a group photo of the coins for here, and one interesting piece that I may post in the identification or exonumia forum if nothing is resolved here. I think it is a Masonic piece of some kind (button probably) Appears to be made from a
Barber dime and copper plated. I thought
Indian Head cent , but it is smaller.
I had a great time working at the shop this week, gonna keep it up as long as they'll have me or until I get called back to work at my real job. I must be getting used to it because my neck stopped hurting by friday ! I won't bore you anymore with updates, but you might see alot more coins on here from me

And you never know when something interesting might happen. Enjoy !

Interesting Half Bryan, Until now I have never seen a "3-D" coin. I guess the more stuff you get to look at the more you see....I forgot to mention in the original post that We found several counterfeit
Barber dimes and a couple
Buffalo nickels. I don't think they were really meant to deceive anything but a vending machine, but they are interesting. I am going to try to get some pics of the dimes, I have pics of the nickels. Will post after work tonight. Thanks for listening
