Not sure what happened to the rim on this, but something did. Anyone have any ideas. Thank you for looking.

I thought PMD at first but the reason I figured it's not is because the rim is missing there. There are no sings on the side of the side of the rim that it took any hits. If it were PMD, where would the metal come from ? Notice the "W" is not affected and it looks like it is on the rim.

Looks slightly misaligned. Opposite the narrow side we see the object(s) in question again. Its had 51 years to circulate and distort the facts.

What I like about your images is how it shows the design rim (or lack of) right above and around "WE". The devices seems to be higher than the (weak) rim itself.

Possible incomplete back-fill of the design rim or left over fold over Rim Fin from the misalignment.

Unless the area in question is actually raised higher than a normal design rim, I don't think rim Cud as much any more. Thanks, Doug.

Edit: The above also depends if the edge is not damaged, which doesn't seem to be in the images provided.

A couple more images showing the edge. Does look a little beat up. Gonna toss it in my jar of slightly strange ones.

It looks like a parking lot coin. It probably got skidded across the pavement a few times

To me it looks like a rim Cud. Note how it is raised above the rim, a lot in some areas? That may have been the collar chipping away on this one. If it were BU then we would know for sure. The area by 'WE' is the most interesting.
