Looks like the start of a Dryer Coin, also a die crack in that spot is common

Die deterioration, which caused the development of a trough on the die face just inside the design rim. On the coin it appears as a circular or subcircular ridge.

Mike, are these more common on the zinc cores, or is there no correlation?

Zinc cent planchets are hard on dies, so this form of Die Deterioration is far more common among zinc cents than other U.S. issues. However the same phenomenon is seen occasionally on other denominations and can be found in many other countries.

Well the information is a quote from Mike. So cudos to him. Did you note something about the image of your coin? The original image had not tops and bottoms to the rim of the first picture. From the other images I was able to created the full image of the coin.
