Long story short I just started collecting US coins and bought 15 common coins from year 1970+ for 5€. This set of coins also included this 1864 one cent. What grade would you give it and how much is it worth? Thank you.

It appears to be the bronze, "with L on ribbon", type, but I think the authenticity is rather suspect, and if it's real, it's definitely been cleaned and damaged/pitted/corroded.

I agree with paralyse. Probably authentic, but appears to have been cleaned at one time. Looks bronze to me also.

Thank you for your answers.
How much does cleaning affect the value of this particular coin? Or is it just worthless now?

I agree it is the bronze Its value is diminished due to the cleaning but it isn't entirely worthless as ebay sold results show several problem coins of this date/type have found buyers. -MV

i think I'm looking at the same coin that the others graded. I'm seeing a fully defined headband. well defined wreath and shield. I have it at least XF40 details

Looks nice to me other than being cleaned at one point, EF details with the full head band.

Thank you again for feedback. I'm not going to sell this coin but I'm making list of my coins with additional info. So far what all commenters seem to agree is that this coin is bronze, cleaned and it has L on ribbon. Grading ranges from VF-25 details to EF-40 details. Value is still a guessing but I'll just put 50$. I'll correct that later if it seems to be lower or higher. Anyways not a bad auction find. Cost me 5,6$. Got this coin and 14 common coins ranging from 1951 to 1983.

It's been quite awhile ago since this was posted, but I tried to take better pictures (I hope they are) with better lighting and no camera lightning. (I still have hard time finding that L). But anyways and changes with grades with new photos even when it is Details coin?

The new photos still show evidence of cleaning (iridescent blue/pink/purple on the surfaces). As for the L:
