It was once a pretty nice coin that got badly beaten up over the years. It is not rare and it has many problems. Where did you find it....underground?

Looks like pavement damage. Not sure what that brownish stain is--it might come off with acetone, but that would be a waste of good acetone.

I didn't have my glasses when I bought it.
Got it from a older lady who was selling her fathers coins

Do you think I should have passed

Dollarman ... you caught that pretty fast ...

Was just seeing who would.

It weighs 9.3 grams ...I think with a little effort I could bend it.

I did buy it from a older lady ... explained to her how it was fake.

Gave her a $1.00 .... add it to my fake coin collection

Interesting b/c I also have a 1936 made in lead. It was found in my Grandfather's half dollar change machine back in the 60s. Cannot get pics at present or would post.

Looks like a poured/cast lead forgery.

i don't want to steal from the OP's thread but here is a counterfeit Morgan I posted earlier this year. I like coming across these old counterfeits..sometimes they have more history than the real coins they are impersonating.

Finding that it's a counterfeit before you buy it is a key to a happy coin collecting life.
