Yes, as soon as I learned about the problem with those old plastics and vinyls, I moved those coins into archival flips, but I loved the way they enclosed the coin, kept it easy to access them, and kept them visible.
Like you, I think my holder of choice will depend on the coin. I'll go with the capsules for my absolute favorites, just because I think that's probably the best protection that preserves the view. I already have a lot of flips to use up, but once I do, I think I'll check out these pockets. If they're really softer and less stiff than flips, I'll prefer them, even tho they don't have a spot for notes (maybe the corners will do).
